  • Additional info

  • We have a project within the project called Inside Out, where inmates make toys, chess sets and other items for disadvantaged kids and pensioners. They are then granted a morning off to visit the facilities and interact with the kids/pensioners. There have been some very moving scenes, these inmates really want to give back to the community and make right their wrongs.

We also take to the playing field on occasion to have a game of soccer or touch rugby. We aim to bring hope and a sense of self worth to the young men so that they can turn over a new leaf when they are released. This is the only volunteering project of its kind in SA.

Please note that places in this project are limited. Volunteers must commit to at least 2 months and book well in advance. A letter of motivation, police clearance as well as copy of passport are needed. This project is mainly for Social Work students or graduates, but applications will be considered on a case to case basis.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will be remembered for life.
